Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, demons, and dark forces growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group reach areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
